Henry L. Trumbo, 84, of Schuylkill Haven, died Feb. 26 at Reading Hospital, West Reading.
Born Nov. 25, 1935, in Summit Station, he was a son of the late Henry H. and Minnie Reber Trumbo.
He was a 1953 graduate of Auburn High School. He was a self-employed building contractor most of his life. Henry also worked as superintendent of construction for BiCen Construction in his last year, and retired in 1999. He had a wood-working shop where he spent his retirement years. He assisted Howard Taylor in getting his own cabinet shop started.
Henry served in the Army as an SP4; CB radio operator, stationed in Bamberg, Germany.
He was a member of Summit Station Fire Company since 1960; Summit Station Fire Police; having served as treasurer and director of both for many years. He was a charter member of Wayne Township Lions Club since 1972, having received the Melvin Jones award. He was a member of Pennsylvania and Schuylkill County Fire Police, Wayne Township Planning Commission and Tremont Senior Citizens. He was a member of Rajah Shriners of Reading Schuylkill Shriners Club, Schuylkill Lodge 138 F&AM, Orwigsburg, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Schuylkill Forest No. 50 and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Reading. He also belonged to Strause Roeder AMVETS Post 0114, and Grundsow Lodge Nummer Fimf. Henry participated in St. Paul's Players, a volunteer group that performed at local nursing homes, as a fiddle player. He also played fiddle with Blue Ridge Mountain Boys from 1955 to 1984; and Blue Ridge Mountain Clan, and he also played Jam Sessions. He was a member of St. Mark's (Brown's) Church, having served as treasurer of Sunday school and assisted with many projects.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline M. Freeman Trumbo, who passed away July 17, 2016.
Henry is survived by a daughter, Sandra Shadler, wife of Timothy, of Schuylkill Haven; a son, Henry II, husband of Karen, of Warrington; two sisters, Verna Ebling, of Schuylkill Haven, and Shirley Freeman, of Greencastle. He was known as Pappy to his two granddaughters, Julia and Marielle, grandson, Timothy, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, including a nephew he helped raise, Kenny Freeman, and a godson, David Freeman.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, at St. Mark's (Brown's) Church. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Masonic service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at the church cemetery. At the family's request, memorial donations in Henry's name may be sent to St. Mark's (Brown's) Memorial Fund, C/O Timothy Shadler, 958 Schwartz Valley Road, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

Mae E. Trexler, 103, a former resident of Ringtown, currently residing in Bethlehem, passed away Friday, February 28th, 2020.
Mae was born in Ringtown, on June 7, 1916, a daughter of the late Florence (Reichenderfer) and Charles Moyer.
She was a graduate of the former Conygham Township High School in Aristes, and was a life long homemaker.
She was a member of Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church in Ringtown, where was very active in her younger years.
Mae was known as the 'butterfly lady' at her recent home in Country Meadows, where she was known to crochet and distribute butterfly coasters to fellow resident and their families. She enjoyed reading and organizing and playing card games.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles Trexler in 2007; and by a son, Henry in 2018. The last member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen, Charles, Millie and George.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara, wife of Eugene Hennessy of Florida; a son Harold Trexler and his wife Gladys, of Ringtown; and daughter in-law Andrea Trexler, of South Carolina.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Pamela, wife of Mark Shirley; Jeff Trexler; Jon Trexler and his wife Kristen; Jill, wife of Donald Clark II; Cheryl Hennessy; Dan Trexler; Dana, wife of Chris Heckman; Devin Trexler and his wife Alexandra.
She is also survived by Great Grandchildren, Evan and Eric Shirley; Lucas and Olivia Trexler; Emily and Dylan Trexler; Edward, Brett and Justin Sherwood; Briana Kibler; Owen and Wyatt Webber; Erika and Alyssa Trexler. Nieces and nephews survive along with her former neighbor and longtime friend Louise Hetherington.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 5th, 2020 at the Aurand Memorial United Methodist Church, 217 West Main Street, Ringtown. A viewing will be held from 9-11 AM at the church, prior to the service.
Mae will be laid to rest alongside her husband Charles at United Methodist Cemetery, following the service.

Agnes R. (Koszyk) Wargo, 91, of Shenandoah, passed away Wednesday evening, February 26, 2020, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born September 29, 1928, in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late George and Catherine (Mickolyczyk) Koszyk.
Agnes was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, formerly St. Stanislaus Church.
Agnes was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and old cowboy movies with John Wayne.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Michael Wargo, on Aug. 29, 2015; five sisters, Dorothy Yezulinas, Elsie Igielski, Helen Waddell, Florence Kostowski and Judy Orzechowski.
Surviving are her son, Michael G. Wargo and his wife, Bettina Kelly, of Beach Haven, N.J.; five grandchildren, Jeff Wargo, Amy Ellsworth, Andy Wargo, Marc Wargo and Kevin Wargo; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Rydzy, of Shenandoah, and Tecla A. Garbarino, of Pottsville; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Religious services will be held at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Annville. A viewing will be held from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
