Agatha C. Mooney, RN, age 94, of Pottsville, PA passed away Monday, February 17th, 2020 at Providence Place in Pottsville.
Born in Hazleton, PA on January 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Antonelli) Avillion.
Agatha was a graduate of Hazelton High School, Class of 1943 and then graduated as an RN from the Pottsville School of Nursing in 1946. She worked her entire professional career in the Emergency Room at the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic and considered herself a "nurse for life". Agatha served as a flight nurse and achieved the rank of Captain with the US Air Force Reserve. She was a member of the 140th Aeromedical Transport Squadron, Pennsylvania Air National Guard in Harrisburg, PA. Agatha was a avid garderer, pro literacy advocate, member of the nurses alumni association and a supporter of the troops including her husband Thomas, who served in the Army for 44 years. She was also a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Thomas W. Mooney on February 5, 2018.
Agatha is survived by her son Thomas F. Mooney, Wilkes Barre and twelve nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair at 10:30AM on Thursday, February 20th, with Msgn William Glosser officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 9-10AM at Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon.
Interment will be held in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Pottsville.

George S. Krajnak, Sr., 85 of Lansford, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital Geriatric Center in Coaldale. He was the husband of Hedy (Porambo) Krajnak of Lansford. They were married for 62 years this past May. Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late George and Sue (Triechak) Krajnak. He was a 1952 graduate of the former Lansford High School and then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. George was a self-employed Electrician, having owned and operated Panther Valley Electric until retiring in 2000. He was a former Lansford Police officer, former Lansford Mayor and Lansford Councilman. George was a former Fire Chief and member of the American Fire Co. #1 of Lansford and a member of the Coaldale American Legion. He was a lifelong member of the former St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church and former St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church of Lansford. George was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed being in the outdoors.
Surviving along with his wife; is a Son, George “Smokey” Krajnak and his wife MaryAnn of Lansford; Daughter, Janel Gilbert and her husband George of Lansford; Grandchildren, Peter Krajnak and his wife Sindle of West Penn, Kara Krajnak of Lansford, Kyle Krajnak of New Tripoli, Zach Gilbert and Adam Gilbert both of Lansford; Brother, Robert Krajnak and his wife Gloria of Arizona; Several Nieces and Nephews.
