Fire Crews Respond to Attic Fire in Ashland Friday Morning

On Friday morning, emergency personnel were dispatched to a fire in Ashland.

At 7:45am, emergency personnel were called to the 300 Block of Centre Street in Ashland for a possible house fire.

Ashland and Butler Township Police were the first on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the 3rd Story of 321/323 Centre Street.

The Washington Fire Company and American Hose Company both of Ashland, and the Rangers Hose Co. of Girardville, responded and found a working fire in the attic of  323 Centre.

A quick attack by firefighters kept the fire contained to the attic.

The fire was marked under control by 8:18am, and crews checked for extensions of the fire through the home and adjacent homes using a thermal imaging camera.

Smoke was cleared from the homes and departments cleared the scene just after 9:00am.

The cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries were reported.
