Eileen Chernosky, 83, of West West Terrace, Branch Township, passed away on Wednesday at Schuylkill Center.
Born in Saint Clair, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Anna Kroupa Travis. She was a 1955 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. She had been employed in the local garment industry, having worked for Minersville Dress Company and Van Heusen. She later worked at K-Mart, Frackville, retiring after 25 years of service.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville. She was also a member of ILGWU. She had served as a Den Mother with the Minersville Cub Scouts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William G. Chernosky, Sr., on May 29, 2019.
Surviving are two sons, William G. “Bud” Chernosky, Jr. (spouse, Tammy), Forestville, and Richard Chernosky (spouse, Rose), Buck Run; three grandchildren, Ann Marie Chernosky (spouse, Jake Scholtes), Yuiko Chernosky and Jarret Pauly; a great-granddaughter, Mercedes Chernosky (companion, Dan Cullen). She is also survived by a sister, Carol Dutter, Easton; nieces and nephews.
The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Sunday from 6:00 P.M. and on Monday from 6:00 A.M. Visitation will end promptly at 10:15 A.M. Visitors are expected to follow CDC and PADOH guidelines regarding wellness and social distancing. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the immediate family on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury Street, Minersville. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Born on October 21, 1944 in Donaldson, she was a daughter of the late Truman W. and Susan R. Noll Boyer.
Carol was a Cleaning Lady at the Comfort Inn, Pine Grove.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Virginia Barry, and a brother, Richard "Snook" Boyer.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Larry Zimmerman; four sisters, Faye Zimmerman, Patricia Schaeffer, Peggy Madenford, and Dawn Himmelberger; a brother, Thomas Boyer; nieces and nephews.

Lorraine Shadle, 87, of Hegins, passed away peacefully on March 16. Lorraine was born in Valley View on September 3, 1932 to the late Mark and Margaret (Scheib) Deiter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Shadle, daughter Dianne Wagner, son Daniel Shadle, and sister Nancy Otto. Lorraine is survived by her son James, and daughter in law Cindy, of New Cumberland, PA.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many devoted friends.
Lorraine lived a long full life. After graduating from the former Hegins Township High School, Lorraine attended Harrisburg Secretary and Business School. Upon graduation, she was employed by George R. Lynn Construction Company, and then several companies in the Pottsville area. After her marriage to Jim in 1952, she raised their 3 children, and helped with the family farm along with several businesses that they operated. She later began working outside the home again for some local companies, retiring from Benner Accounting in 1987.
Lorraine and Jim enjoyed retirement and literally travelled the world, enjoying every destination immensely. They enjoyed family get togethers, holidays, and the ever-present card games. She was an active member of the Hegins Rotary Club, as well as the Hegins EMT and Ambulance Association.
She was a faithful member of the United Church of Christ, Fountain, PA.
