Ruth Ellen Zimmerman, 68, of Wayne Township, passed away Thursday, March 19th, at her residence.
Born in Pottsville on January 12, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Henry & Doris (Evans) Sterling.
Ruth was the loving wife of James A. Zimmerman. The couple shared 26 years of marriage.
She was a graduate of Minersville High School, Class of 1970.
Ruth was a member of Trinity Chapel Buck Run, Pottsville.
She was formerly employed as a cashier at Hills; and was the gift shop, & truck parts manager at the All American Truck Stop, Pine Grove.In more recent years she was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is also survived by a son, Kenneth Bassininsky & wife, Kim, Lake Wynonah, step-children: Beth Ann Davis, & husband Donald, Phoenix Park, Krista Ann Zimmerman, Pottsville, grandchildren: Abby, & Megan Bassininsky, step-grandchildren: Sophie Adams, and Gabe Donald, & Drew Donald Davis, three sisters, Cindy Sterling Kimmel & husband, Gary, Buck Run, Ann Sterling Ryan & husband, Tom, Maryland, Deb Sterling Barnhart & husband, Mike, Branchdale, and a brother, Henry Sterling & wife, Karen, State College.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister, Diane Sterling Wehr.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of family.

William E. “Abby” Abrachinsky, 69 of Shenandoah passed away peacefully early Friday morning, March 20, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Pottsville on October 14, 1950 he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Berger) Abrachinsky.
He was a 1968 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over thirty years as a machine operator at Reading Anthracite.
Abby was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, gardening and spending time at his family farm. He was an avid Alabama football fan. He also enjoyed playing with his dogs “Bama” and “Daisy”. But above all, he treasured the time spent with his family especially his granddaughters.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Deborah M. Buhl whom he married on March 12, 1979; his daughter, Dana Chuplis and her husband Anthony Chuplis, III of Orwigsburg; his son, Dustin Abrachinsky of Shenandoah; two beloved granddaughters, Ella Grace and Abby Lynne Chuplis; his sister, Virginia “Ginny” Martin of Connecticut; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Due to the current health situation, no public services will be held at this time. In the future, relatives and friends will be invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in St. Casimir’s Church, the sacred worship site of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah to be announced when permitted.
