A factory in Ashland will shift their focus from making clothes to medical gowns.
Gitman Bros., located in Ashland, is typically known for making high end dress shirts and ties but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they will now be making medical gowns for the foreseeable future.
The company announced on Thursday that after two weeks of communication, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf approved and gave the green light for the factory to begin production of hospital grade medical gowns.
In a statement from the company, "We're extremely proud of our team as they return to work in an effort to aid the healthcare workers on the front line."
Our work force will consist of a small crew to ensure that we're compliant with all existing CDC and WHO safety measures and will be constantly monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of our staff".
