Woman Taken into Custody for Robbery and Assault in Shenandoah

A woman was taken into custody over the weekend by Shenandoah Police after attempting to rob and assaulting another woman at a convenience store in the borough.

According to Shenandoah Police Chief George Carado on Saturday, April 25th, 2020 around 1:25am, borough police were dispatched to the  Turkey Hill Convenience Store for an assault. 

An investigation led to Kaitlyn Collins, 27, No Fixed Address, being arrested for Robbery, Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and summary offenses. 

Police say Collins forced her way to a room that is closed to the public and took several packs of cigarettes. 

When confronted, Collins began to strike a female, damage an IPhone and caused damage to store equipment and merchandise. 

When taken into custody, Police recovered two hypodermic needles on Collins. 

Collins was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko who set bail at $50,000 cash. 

Collins was remanded in Schuylkill County Prison.
