Mahanoy City Man Charged with Burglary

A Mahanoy City man was caught burglarizing a home in the borough on Thursday.

On Thursday, Mahanoy City Police charged Isaiah Kechula, of Mahanoy City, with Burglary and Criminal trespass after an incident on West Market Street.

Police had been called earlier for a report of an open door at a vacant home and checked the property, finding it empty, but returned later to re-check the location and found Kechula attempting to remove an air conditioner from the home.

He was arraigned and locked up in the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of bail.

A preliminary hearing will be scheduled before District Magisterial Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah at a later date.
