Authorities in Schuylkill County are searching for a Pottsville man after he was reported missing and his car was found near Hegins.
According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard Wojciechowsky, Tyler Richard Zimerofsky, 22, of Pottsville was reported missing on Sunday May 3rd, 2020, by parents after being last seen at home on Friday, May 1st, 2020.
Zimerofsky’s vehicle was located on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020 legally parked unattended off the Hegins Exit of Interstate 81South. An extensive search of the area did not locate Zimerofsky.
On Monday, dive teams from the West End in Mahanoy City and Schuylkill Hose in Schuylkill Haven were called to a body of water that was located near Zimerofsky's vehicle. Nothing was found by either team.
On Wednesday, May 6th, 2020, Chief Wojciechowsky provided a statement on the investigation:
"As of this date at 10:00am, we have been able to determine that Zimerofsky left Schuylkill County and was observed in normal actions 05/05/20 in another part of the state. The investigation is continuing but he is no longer classified as a missing person."
