Abbey Eversley Whalen, 41, of Cressona, died Thursday, May 7, 2020. Abbey was born in Reading, PA on March 11, 1979, the daughter of Claire Louise MacDonald.
She was the wife of Randy Michael Whalen, Jr. They were married on May 19, 2007. She was a member of Zion’s Red Church, Orwigsburg, and also worked as their Administrative Assistant. Abbey was recently elected future 2020-21 PTO President for Blue Mountain Elementary West and was a motivational speaker for the Reading Weight Management Center.
In addition to her husband Randy, son of Randy Sr. and Kim Whalen, and her mother Claire MacDonald, wife of David Rieger, Abbey is survived by her loving children James age 7 and Olivia age 5. She is also survived by a brother Chris Childs, husband of Kelli and a nephew Quinten age 12, as well as a niece Celia age 8.
Abbey was the most amazing, strong, kind, generous, outgoing and beautiful soul. Everything and everyone she touched was made the better for it. She loved her husband, children, family and friends with a passion. We love her so much and she will be missed so much more than words could ever say.

David L. “Cookie” Morgan, 67, of Branchdale, formerly of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Monday at his home.
Born in Butler Township, he was a son of the late Stanley and Blanche Buhl Morgan. He was a 1971 graduate of the Milton Hershey School. He was a carpenter in the building trade; and was last employed as a maintenance technician by Foster Township.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Louis Morgan and Gene Buhl.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, the former Loretta McGann; a daughter, Angela Vesay, Pottsville; a grandson, Michael Blanco; two brothers, Bob Morgan, Pitman, and Dale Buhl, New Ringgold.
A memorial service at Faith Assembly of God Church, Cressona, will be scheduled at a later date.

Ruth “Ella” Trezise, 89, of Llewellyn, Branch Township died Monday at Berks-Heim Nursing Home.
Born in Branch Township, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Duffy Hopkins. She was a 1949 graduate of Branch Township High School.
She was a member of former First English Baptist Church, Minersville, where she taught Sunday school and served as treasurer of the Building Fund.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert W. Trezise, on August 20, 1998. She was also the last member of her immediate family, including four brothers, James Hopkins, Robert Hopkins, Frank Hopkins, and Carl Hopkins, and four sisters, Marie Stusalitus, Naomi Boyer, Dorothy Galinis and Anna Novitsky.
Ruth is survived by two children, Lori Trezise, Reading, and Robbin Trezise, Minersville; three grandchildren, Robyn Lynn Koch, Eric Trezise and Jeremy Trezise; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township.
