According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Friday, May 1st, 2020, around 4:55am, James Blackwell, 45, of Mahanoy City was travelling south on Route 924.
A high volume of water was running across the roadway due to a heavy storm that had just passed. Blackwell drove through the water and began to hydroplane. His GM Envoy slid off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
Blackwell overturned and came to a final rest on his roof.
Blackwell was evaluated at the scene and refused transport to an area hospital.
Sheppton Oneida Fire and Shenandoah Ambulance assisted at the scene.
