Raymond L. Johnson, Sr., 100 yrs. of age formerly of Palmerton, and Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2020, in Tamaqua while in the loving care of his family.
Born on September 11, 1919 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of the late, Gustav P., and Anna Louis (Novitz) Johnson. He was also predeceased by his wife, Gaetana (Albanese) Johnson.
Surviving are son, Raymond A. Johnson of Tamaqua, and extended family.
A graduate of Washington High School in Minneapolis, Raymond earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in Chemical Engineering. He retired as a Commander form the United States Navy and was a Research Engineer at the former New Jersey Zinc plant in Palmerton for over 18 years, where he was responsible for a number of patents working as a metallurgist. A talented musician, Raymond played the French Horn in numerous bands and orchestra's. After returning home from WWII, Raymond earned his Master's in Metallurgy.

Randy Michael Whalen, 64, of Adamsdale, passed away Thursday, May 28th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Randy Michael Whalen, 64, of Adamsdale, passed away Thursday, May 28th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Randy was born in Pottsville on August 1, 1955, a son of the late Jean Louise (Drey) and Michael Joseph Whalen. He was the husband of Kimberly (Miller) Whalen. They were married on August 25th, 1979.
In addition to his wife Kim, Randy is also survived by his son Randy Whalen Jr., widower of Abbey and grandchildren James and Olivia Whalen. He is also survived by his siblings.
Randy was an awesome drummer who knew how to keep the beat. He had a great sense of humor and kept you laughing. He was a hardworking, kind, generous & thoughtful man.
There will be no services at this time. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Orwigsburg is honored to be serving the family.

Janet L. Stauffer, 87, a former resident of Ringtown, currently residing at the Shenandoah Manor Senior Living Community, passed away Monday, June 1st, 2020, due to complications of the Covid-19 virus.
Janet was born in Bethlehem on December 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Bessie (Evans) and Archie Achey.
After graduating high school in Bethlehem, Janet married and began raising her family, while she assisted her husband of 57 years in the daily operations of the Edward W. Stauffer Funeral Home in Ringtown, until their retirement.
Janet was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown, where she was very active, and was a member of the Dorcas Class. She was a member of the Ringtown American Legion Ladies Auxillary, and the former Ringtown Lioness Club.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Stauffer in 2007, and by two sisters and two brothers, Georgine, Pauline, Leonard and Floyd.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicki, wife of Dennis Hetherington of Lewisberry and Melodee, wife of Robert Stravinsky of Ringtown.
Janet is also survived grandchildren, Jennifer (Troy) Hardy; Jaime (Jessica) Hetherington; Joshua (Heather) Hetherington; Robert (companion Dorothy) Stravinsky; Jill Simons and Holly (Daniel) Bindie; and by 17 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Janet will be laid to rest alongside her husband Edward during a private family service at St. John's Cemetery in Ringtown.

Ruth Virginia Harris, age 92, of Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Providence Place.
Born on March 9, 1928, in Ravine, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Eva Brown Miller.
Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a 1946 graduate of Central Penn Business College in Harrisburg. She was employed as the Executive Secretary to the superintendent of the Pine Grove School District for 25 years from July 1968 until her retirement on September 1, 1993, and the recording Secretary of the Pine Grove Area Board of School Directors for many years.
Ruth was a member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church Ravine, where she had been the Church Organist and Sunday School Pianist. since September of 1951.
Preceding her in death were her Husband, Ernest S. Harris, on October 25, 1984, and a Brother, Paul Miller.
Ruth is survived by her beloved Church family and friends.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family with SALM John Ziegler officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Ravine.
Ruth would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ravine, c/o Richard Wolfgang, 240 Tremont Road, Pine Grove, PA 17963, in her memory.
