Ashland Fire Responds to Trash Fire in the Borough

On Friday, the Ashland Fire Department responded to a second trash fire in just as many days.

Around 11:30am, Friday, Ashland fire personnel were dispatched to 1000 Block of Centre Street, Ashland, for a unknown type fire.

The Ashland Police Department had found someone burning garbage and wood in the rear of the home and called for the fire department.  A borough ordinance prohibits burning of any material within the borough.

The American Hose Company responded with an engine and the Washington Fire Company responded with their brush truck.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out within minutes of arrival.

Ashland Police will be citing the homeowner for illegal burning.
