A man is facing theft charges after stealing a car then crashing it in Upper Mahantongo Township.According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on July 10th, 2020, Seth Updegrave, 19, of Sacramento took a family member's vehicle without telling them from a home on East Main Street in Hubley Township.
Updegrave later drove the vehicle through a field on Horse Shoe Drive in Upper Mahantango Township then struck a tree and fled the scene of the crash on foot.
Updegrave later returned home without telling the family member or police that he took the car and crashed.
State Police have charged Updegrave with theft and receiving stolen property.
