Auburn Man Locked Up in Schuylkill County Prison for Robbery, Carjacking, and Threatening a Woman

An Auburn man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for a carjacking and robbery late Sunday into Monday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, between the hours of 11:30pm, on Sunday, August 16th, 2020 and 12:30am, on Monday, August 17th, 2020, an incident occurred where Clayton Pepe, 32, of Auburn was involved in a verbal argument with a woman at a home on Green Tree Drive in West Brunswick Township.

During the argument, Pepe attempted to grab the woman's purse and when she attempted to leave, he got in the woman's car and followed her down the driveway.

Pepe then reportedly threatened the woman that if she didn't get in the car, he would kill her.  After threatening her, he got out of the car and grabbed her by her hair and threw her to the ground.

After forcing the woman into the vehicle, Pepe drove the vehicle to the New Ringgold Mart on Hughes Street.

The victim attempted to flee but he grabbed her again and forced her back into the vehicle.

The victim was able to get away and contact a friend who contacted police.

Pepe fled the scene in the woman's vehicle and was later recovered in a driveway near his home.

A warrant was issued for Pepe's arrest, and later taken into custody on Monday, August 17th, 2020.

Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier arraigned Pepe on charges of robbery of a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, driving with a suspended or revoked license, false imprisonment, simple assault, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and harassment.

Pepe was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
