Earlier this week, the Mahanoy City Police Department arrested a man for child sexual assault.
According to Mahanoy City Police Officer Charles Kovalewski, on Tuesday, charges were filed stemming from an investigation into a complaint received in late May of this year, when a local emergency room reported to police that a child had been brought in alleging inappropriate physical contact by Jamie David, 22, no known address. The alleged sexual assault was to have taken place at the victim’s residence in Mahanoy City.
Schuylkill County Children and Youth Services and the Children’s Resource Center at Pinnacle Health, Harrisburg, assisted in the investigation, and an arrest warrant was issued by District Magisterial Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah.
David was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Saint Clair Police at a relative’s home in Saint Clair, and turned over to Mahanoy City Police for processing.
David was arraigned before on-call District Magisterial Judge Anthony Kilker and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $50,000 straight cash bail; a preliminary hearing will be scheduled before Kilker at a later date.
