Man Wanted by Ashland Police for Indecent Assault of a Minor Taken into Custody in Berks County

A man that was wanted for an indecent assault of a minor and other charges in Ashland was taken into custody in Berks County last week.

According to Ashland Police, in March 2020, after an extensive investigation by Officer Daniel Weikel, with assistance from the Schuylkill County Children and Youth, Pennsylvania State Police, and Schuylkill County District Attorney's office, a warrant was issued for Coy Weatherholtz, 43, of Myerstown on felony charges of indecent assault of a minor, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, and attempted sexual abuse of a child (Photographing and videotaping).

Last week, Weatherholtz was taken into custody by the Sinking Spring Police Department in Berks County after a traffic stop for a traffic violation.

Weatherholtz was arraigned in Berks County and was held in the Berks County Prison until the following day where he was picked up by Ashland Police.  After being brought back to Schuylkill County, Weatherholtz was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 straight cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 19th, 2020 before Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale.
