According to a release from Argall's office, New Ringgold Borough received a $35,870 grant to make improvements to the borough’s wastewater treatment plant. Completing this project will assist the borough in maintaining a safe and environmentally compatible treatment plant.
Shoemakersville Borough in Northern Berks County received a $103,062 grant to replace valves that have been in use since 1999. The money will be used to replace the existing valves with new, electronically controlled valves to create a more efficient and reliable system.
"I am thankful these vitally important projects received the funding they need to support local wastewater treatment plants,” said Argall. “Projects like these are critical for the smooth functioning of dour communities. These upgrades will greatly benefit both New Ringgold and Shoemakersville.”
“I applaud local officials for their foresight in bringing these areas up to standards in regard to treatment of wastewater,” said Knowles. “This funding is instrumental in helping replace and repair the various sewage facilities and systems. I am pleased to see that communities in the 124th District will have the opportunity to conduct repairs to avoid any sewage issues for those residing in the area.”

Also, Pine Grove Township will receive a $415,000 grant from the PA Small Water and Sewer fund for upgrades to their water system, according to Senator David G. Argall and Representative Mike Tobash.
“I am thankful this vitally important project received this funding to support local employers,” said Argall. “Projects like this are critical for the smooth functioning of our communities. This project will provide a great benefit to businesses in the I-81 area.”
“The project is extremely important for continued economic growth in the Pine Grove area. The interchange at I-81 has seen positive growth, but in order for that to continue the proper infrastructure needs to be in place,” said Tobash.
The grant will be used to extend public water facilities to the west side of I-81 in Pine Grove Township. While there are businesses currently in that location, they currently rely on private water wells and have no public fire protection currently. This project will allow them to access public water and could encourage future development at this location.
