No Injuries Reported in Crash in Mahanoy Township on Monday Afternoon

No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle crash on Route 54 in Mahanoy Township near Shenandoah.

Just after 3:30pm, emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident on Suffolk Road/Route 54 in the area of the old St. Nicks Breaker.

According to Mahanoy Township Police Chief Brandon Alexander, weather was factor in the cause of the crash when a Ford Mustang hydroplaned, slid off the roadway and struck a utility pole head-on.

The driver and three passengers were not injured in the crash.

The airbags deployed in the crash and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
