This year’s race will be a 40-lap main event paying a cool $4000 to the winner. This race provides a tune-up for the richest race of the season which is of course the annual “Coalcraker 72” which pays a whopping $17,000 to the winner which will take place this year on Sunday September 6th. This years Prelude race will be a full points event with regular handicapping in place.
The Insigner Performance modified division this year has been super competitive with only teenager Alex Yankowski and current points leader Mike Gular the only drivers with multiple victories. The points race has turned into a seesaw battle between Gular, Jeff Strunk and Craig Von Dohren all taking turns at the top of the standings setting up a fantastic battle for the next two weeks.
A couple of Ryan’s are set to make their return to the Big Diamond fold this Friday night in preparation for the big race only two weeks away. Former track champion and Coalcracker winner Ryan Godown is slated to be back in action this Friday aboard the Searock Fabrications No. 26 along with Ryan Krachun who has run well at Big Diamond during his past seasons as a track regular.
Bill Brown & Company, a proud provider of printing and promotional products since 1946 will sponsor the Coalcracker combo package. The driver who has the best combined finish in this Friday’s Prelude to the Coalcracker and the Coalcracker 72 will receive a $100 bonus. If there is a tie, the highest finisher in the Coalcracker 72 will get the prize. As an added bonus, should one driver win both races, the bonus will increase to $150
Also, on the card for this Friday night will be the USS Achey Open Sportsman who will compete in a 20-lap main event. This season has come down to a battle between Brad Brightbill who has three wins and Brandon Edgar who has two wins. Brightbill is the leader in the race for the 2020 points title.
Rounding out the schedule for this Friday night will be the always exciting Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners and also features the return of the Hellers Gas Street Stocks.
This Friday will feature a FREE PIG ROAST while supplies last!
Gates will open at 5:30 with warmups getting underway at 7:15. Racing starts at 7:45
General admission for this Friday is $20, Senior admission is $18. Kids 16 and under are free. Active military with a valid ID are free.
