Savage 61 is the title sponsor for the Crate 602 Sportsman and have been a supporter of Big Diamond Speedway for years.
This Friday was originally supposed to be the final of points for the Insigner Performance Modifieds but due to the start of the season being delayed due to the pandemic, the points title battle will now head into September. Look for a schedule of the September events to be released sometime next week.
Mike Gular continues to lead the way in the chase for the 2020 points title with Jeff Strunk and Craig Von Dohren following closely behind. Jeff Strunk was the latest modified winner and will look to keep that momentum rolling this week when the Modifieds will race for $3000 in their 25-lap main event.
Both the USS Achey Open Sportsman and the Savage 61 Crate 602 division will run their 20-lap features with the winners receiving $800. The Sportsman divisions have been drastically different in 2020 with Brad Brightbill and Brandon Edgar dominating the Open Sportsman with three wins each. In direct contrast to that would be the Crate 602 divisiion which has not had a repeat winner all season.
The Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners will race their 20-lap feature for $325 while the Hellers Gas Street Stocks will round out the evening’s card with a $600 to win 20-lap feature.
Gates will open at 5:30, with warm-ups getting underway at 7:15. Racing begins at 7:45.
General admission for Friday is $20, Seniors $18. Kids 16 and under are free. Active military with ID are also admitted free of charge.
Of course, once this Friday’s racing is completed all eyes will turn to the Jack Rich, Inc Coalcracker weekend with the winner of this seasons Coalcracker 72 for the Insigner Performance Modifeds paying $17,000.
If you cannot make it to the track, all the action will be available via pay-per-view on dirttrackdigest.tv
