Born in Tuscarora on July 9, 1936, he was a son of the late Michael E. and Margaret (nee Krynock) Howay. A 1954 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Joseph served in the Navy during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he was employed as an aircraft mechanic for the Defense Logistics Agency, New Cumberland Army Depot. Joseph was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employee Association and St. Mary Byzantine Church in Brockton, PA.
He is survived by niece, Michelle Downing of Tamaqua, PA; great nieces, Kristy Davis of Trescow, PA and Sheridan Downing of Tamaqua; and great great niece, Veyda Erbe. Joseph was predeceased by a brother, Michael Howay in 2010 and a sister, Jean M. Howay in 2001.
The Office of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 24, 2020 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. James Carroll officiating. Interment in St. Mary Byzantine Cemetery, Tuscarora will follow. Call 10-11 AM on Monday at the funeral home.

Madelyn Louise Maurer, 18 months, Frackville, passed away peacefully Saturday evening at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with her family at her side.
Born in Pottsville she was a daughter of Joshua and Brooke Nicole Wolfe Maurer, Frackville.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother Shirley Wolfe and paternal great-grandmother Betty Guziewicz and her great aunt Peggy Reed.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her sister Charlotte Maurer, Frackville her paternal grandparents Dave and Phyllis Maurer, Girardville, maternal grandparents Ron and Trisha Wolfe, Ashland, maternal Great-grandparents Dan and Bonnie Sisko, Ashland and maternal Great Great Grandfather Charles Wolfe, Hegins also by several aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Geisinger Medical Center for their loving care of Mighty Madelyn.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Girardville on Friday, August 21st from noon until 7 p.m.. Private funeral services will be held for the immediate family at 7 p.m. with Rev. Curtis Zemencik, officiating.

Born on May 7, 1963 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of Marie Kadany Butscunas, Schoentown, and the late George E. Butscunas. A 1981 graduate of saint Clair High School, she had worked for the former D'Attilio Salon, Cressona. She was last employed by the Pottsville Area School District as a bus driver.
A dedicated animal lover and rescue supporter, Christine's family often joked that all the SPCA organizations would go out of business if anything happened to her.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her sister, Teresa Kline and her husband, Barry, Schoentown; her nieces, Chloe and Caitlyn Kline; her uncle and godfather, John Kadany, Long Pond; her beloved greyhound, Isabelle. She was also very close to her stepdaughter, Nicole Muldowney, Portsmouth, Virginia.

Born in Coaldale, PA on October 9, 1951, he was the son of the late Andrew H. and Lenore Mae (Dennis) Fritzinger.
Dave served in the U.S. Navy from March of 1969 till March of 1973. He was employed as an EMT working for many Ambulance companies throughout his career which included Pottsville, Leesport, Orwigsburg, Frackville, Schuylkill Medical Transport, Shenandoah, Tremont and last retired from the Lehighton Ambulance.
Dave was a member of St. Clair-Wade United Methodist Church Saint Clair, the former Greenwood Hill Fire Company in Pottsville, the American Hose Fire Company in Pottsville, where he was Vice President of the Board, the EMS Council in Allentown, where he was on the board. Dave loved golfing. He was an avid book reader and loved history.
Dave is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah E. (Heffner) Fritzinger, Pottsville; a nephew Barry K. Heffner and his wife Cherryrose, Portsmouth, VA; a great nephew Matthew K. Heffner, Portsmouth, VA; two sisters: Andrea Zubey and her husband Leonard, Middletown and Cameo Semasek and her husband Mark, Tamaqua; a brother-in-law George R. Heffner and his wife Linda, Cressona; a sister-in-law Kay Ann Korn, Pottsville; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Religious Service will be held at the St. Clair-Wade United Methodist Church in Saint Clair at 11AM on Friday, August 21st, with Pastor Jack Murray officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday evening from 6-8PM and Friday morning from 9-11AM at the church.
Interment with Military Honors will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

Anna T. (Bishop) Bogden, 95, a former resident of Shenandoah, passed away early Friday morning, August 14, 2020, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Born August 4, 1925, in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Franks) Bishop.
She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School.
Anna was employed as a bookkeeper for the former Swift and Co., Shenandoah, and was last employed by Vito Rinaldi, Shenandoah.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and the former Annunciation BVM Church.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, William A. Bogden, on March 9, 2019; her grandson, T.J. Reese; her sister, Joan. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her son, Thomas J. Reese and his wife, Donna, of Ringtown, and her great-grandson, Derrick Reese, of Denver, Colorado.
Private services and interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, will be private at the convenience of the family. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Ashland, PA Dec.12,1926 the daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth (Blasius) Donahoe. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Church in Ashland. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1944 as salatatarian of her class and McCann School of Business , Mahanoy City, PA. She worked for 38 years for the Citizens National Bank , Ashland until retirement. She was a member of St. Ann's Guild and helped with card parties at St. Joseph's Church.
In addition to her parents two brothers preceded her in death: Francis and John Donahoe;
Two nieces:Joann Desris, Rosemarie Lang; and nephew Matthew. She was the loving aunt of Maribeth Gilligan (Dan) , Kathleen Donahoe (Marty), Margaret Bythrow (Mark), Theresa Donahoe (John), Richard Donahoe (Dianne), Dyan Hegerich (Fred), and Cecelia Corbett (Chris). She is also survived by 31 great nieces and nephews. Also she is survived by 9 grand nephews and nieces.

Debbie A. Kosmisky, 64, of Wayne twp., Auburn, formerly of Minersville, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Born on January 20, 1956, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Elvin and Dorothy (Truscott) Maley. Debbie was a 1973 graduate of Minersville Area School District. After graduation, she continued her education becoming an LPN. As an LPN, her greatest joy was spending 34 years in the pediatric unit at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville. She will be fondly remembered for her compassionate care she rendered to each patient. Her patients and her family held a special place in her heart.
She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and aunt- always being there for each one of her family members. Her family spent many happy days at get-togethers she hosted at her home. She just loved sitting pool-side with her niece, Meredith, who was like a daughter to her, or sitting on the patio chatting away with her husband, Rick, and their neighbor, Gene. She enjoyed many other activities such as gardening, swimming, traveling with her husband, and fishing. She had the honor of receiving three PA fishing citations for her ability to snag large fish including a 37 lb. cod. Debbie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wayne twp., Auburn.
For many years, she helped with making and distributing of Thanksgiving meals. She holds a special place in the hearts of her family and friends and will be deeply missed by her husband, Rick, her siblings, their spouses, niece Meredith, family and friends.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Richard Kosmisky, sister, Colleen, wife of Robert Barnhart of Llewellyn, brothers, Elvin , husband of Betsy Maley of Sheppton, Michael, husband of Linda Maley of Pottsville and Robert Maley of Tremont. Nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held 9:00 to 11:00 am Monday at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville.
A private family memorial service will be held at 11:15 officiated by Pastor Katherine Fisher. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Debbie’s memory may be made to Penn State Children’s Hospital (Hershey Campus) 600 University Drive, Hershey, Pa. 17033. Due to COVID-19, all recommended social distancing , mask requirements, and public safety guidelines will be followed.
