Filomena “Filka” Agnes Hankey, 92, lifelong resident of Coaldale, PA died on Thursday, August 20, 2020 in Coaldale. She was the wife of the late Herbert C. Hankey to whom she was married 25 years at the time of his death on December 6, 1987.
Born in Coaldale, Filka was a daughter of the late Stephen and Agnes (nee Vido) Blasko. She worked as a floor lady at the former Phillip Van Huesen shirt factory in Coaldale until it closed. Filka was a member of the former Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Coaldale where she was very active with the kitchen crew helping with all the church festivals and events. A good cook and baker, Filka took great pride in making ethnic dishes and was well known for her rice pudding and homemade peanut butter Easter eggs. On Saturday nights, she loved watching polka shows on TV and every Sunday morning was tuned into Polka Joe Manjack’s show on WMGH Radio.
Filka currently is a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley.
The last member of her immediate family, having been predeceased by her siblings, Frank Blasko, Stephen Blasko, John Blasko, Elizabeth Serina, Margaret Kapko, Rose Blasko, and baby Agnes Blasko, Filka is survived by longtime caregiver, Geri King and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, August 25 in Sky View Memorial Park. Memorials in Filomena’s name may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice, Development Office, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015 OR Saint Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 West Ludlow Street, Summit Hill, PA 18250.

Tammy Farber, 50, of Andreas, died Tuesday, August 18, 2020, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. She was the daughter of the late Lamar and Bonnie (Strohl) Wentz. She was employed as a bartender for the East Penn Sporting Club, Andreas Sporting Club, and the former Lehighton VFW. Tammy was always there for her daughters. She was funny, fun loving, and straight to the point. She loved listening to country music.
Surviving are her companion, Rick Stubbs, of Andreas; three daughters, Ashley Miller, of Jim Thorpe, Leah Farber, Kaiya Miller, both of Andreas; two brothers, Lamar Wentz Jr. and Greg Wentz, both of Palmerton; a sister Kimberly Wentz, of North Carolina; a grandson, Liam Miller-Schein, nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held 11am on Saturday, August 22, at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville, 500 Church Rd. Palmerton, PA, 18017, with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating.
Call at the funeral home on Friday, August 21, from 5-8pm. CDC guidelines will be followed, social distancing and masks are required in the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.

James E. Neumeister, age 72, of Barry Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 18 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
