Knoebels has announced the 2020 recipients of scholarships including two graduates from Schuylkill County.
As area students prepare for the start of the 2020 school year, there are ten Knoebels Amusement Resort team members who have an extra $500 in their pockets.
The scholarship is in recognition of their scholastic achievements and aspirations, as well as their contributions as team members. Knoebels has awarded approximately $113,000 to 226 team members since the start of the program in 1997.

This year’s recipients include 10 team members who are on the path to becoming nurses, a speech and language pathologist, an immunologist and more.

Paul Ahrensfield (Security), son of Gail and John Ahrensfield, Ashland, 2016 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, attending Lock Haven University, majoring in Criminal Justice
Caitlin Weaver (JBK), daughter of Christina and Ronald Weaver, Klingerstown, 2019 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, attending Susquehanna University, majoring in Biomedical Sciences
Emilee Barnhardt (Alamo), daughter of Jason and Margaret Barnhardt, Kulpmont, 2018 graduate of Mount Carmel Junior/Senior High School, attending Wilkes University, majoring in Nursing
Tyler Pierce (Cesari’s Pizza), son of Deanna and Richard Pierce, Danville, 2020 graduate of Danville Area High School, attending Bloomsburg University, majoring in Interior Design
Annie Richardson (Crystal Pool), daughter of Joyce and Dan Richardson, Shamokin, 2017 graduate of Shamokin Area High School, attending Misericordia University, majoring in Speech and Language Pathology
Ashley Schott (Old Mill), daughter of Tracy and Tom Schott, Elysburg, 2018 graduate of Meadowbrook Christian School, attending Messiah University, majoring in Applied Heath Science with a Psychology Minor
Colton Schwartz (Games), son of Lori and Bernie Schwartz, Shamokin, 2020 graduate of Line Mountain High School, attending Bloomsburg University, majoring in Nursing
Cameron Wayne (Guest Relations), daughter of Sandra and John Wayne, Coal Township, 2016 graduate of Shamokin Area High School, attending Penn State University, majoring in Immunology and Infectious Disease
Christopher Wetzel (Parking), son of Robin Wetzel, Coal Township, 1993 graduate of Shamokin Area High School, attending Lancaster Bible College, majoring in Biblical Studies
Joshua Wolfe (Grounds), son of Florence Wolfe, Danville, 2018 graduate of Agora Cyber Charter School, attending Susquehanna University
Scholarships were awarded based on the students’ written applications, a work performance evaluation completed by the applicants’ department manager, and two external judges.
Three Knoebels team members have also been nominated for a 2020 Pennsylvania Amusement Parks Association (PAPA) scholarship. Those students include: Emilee Barnhardt (Alamo), Heather Klinger (Games), and Cameron Wayne (Guest Relations).
