HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: North Schuylkill Takes Down Pine Grove at Home

After close game to start, North Schuylkill easily defeated the Pine Grove during the Spartans first home game of the season.

Both teams entered Week 2 of the 2020 season with wins during Week 1 and both teams tried to continue that moment from the start of the game.

The Cardinals were the first to strike in the first quarter when Pine Grove's  Josh Leininger threw a 31 yard pass to Shea Morgan for a touchdown.

At the start of the second, North Schuylkill was able to score on a defensive touchdown after a blocked punt by Jaxson Chowansky and a return by Jared Tinari to tie up the game 7-7, but the Cardinals returned with another touchdown pass by Leininger to Dalton Geesey but missed the extra point.

This fired up the Spartans who were able to take score twice before halftime and take the lead 21-13 after a touchdown pass from Jake Hall to Tanner Walcavage  and a second from Hall to Dylan Dietz.

Pine Grove would score one more time in the 3rd and that would be the last time they would put points on the board.  At the end of the third, the score was 28-19, North Schuylkill leading after a 23-yard touchdown by Josh Chowansky.

Spartans would continue and score twice more after touchdown passed from Hall to Walcavage and from Hall to Joey Flail ending the game with a strong win. 41-19
