Seven municipalities in Schuylkill County received grants totaling $600,000 from the 2020 Community Conservation Partnerships Program for eight projects that will go towards making improvements for various parks, according to Senator David G. Argall, Representative Mike Tobash, Representative Jerry Knowles, and Representative Neal Goodman.
“I am thankful that these projects received these well-deserved grants,” said Argall. “These projects will be a great benefit for communities across Schuylkill County.”
“I’m glad to see the conservation grants will be going to good use in Frailey and Porter Townships,” said Tobash. “In these difficult times, outdoor recreation is important for our citizens, and the much-needed upgrades for Good Spring Park and Reinerton Playground will be good for the communities.”
“This is great news for our community,” said Knowles. “Grants like this help support recreation and conservation opportunities, which help make the 124th Legislative District a better place to live, work and play. In addition, it creates jobs for the area. These grants show a tremendous example of what can be accomplished when community and state government leaders work together.”
“Now, more than ever, people are looking to spend more time in the great outdoors. These grants will help them do just that,” said Goodman.
