A Schuylkill Haven man was taken into custody over the weekend after he threatened a woman with an assault rifle.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Sunday, October 25th, 2020 around 6:30pm, troopers responded to Millers Road in Wayne Township for a report of an assault involving an assault rifle.
An investigation led to the finding that Mateo Rivera, 21, of Schuylkill Haven pointed an assault rifle at a woman and told her that he was going to kill her.
An arrest warrant was immediately obtained and he was later taken into custody during a traffic stop after being found to be driving under the influence.
Rivera was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment.
He was arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge David Rossi who locked him up in Schuylkill County Prison after he was unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
