David F. "Prune" Hatter, 74, a lifelong resident of Donaldson, passed away suddenly, Friday, October 30th at his home.
Born in Pottsville, April 18, 1946, a son of the late Ralph Merwin and Marie Catherine Morgan Hatter.
Prune was a 1965 graduate of the former Tremont High School. He was a retired forklift operator at Richmond Screw/Dayton Superior, Tremont. He had also been a heavy equipment operator in the strip mines.
He was of the Lutheran faith, a life member of the Little Run Sportsman's Club, Tremont; a life and active member of the Donaldson Fire Company; a member of the Short Mountain Trap Club and the United Steel Workers Union. Prune was a first responder with Tremont Ambulance for many years.
An avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing made up a huge part of his life. His family meant the world to him.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Linda M. Horan Hatter; his three children, David R. Hatter, Donaldson; Denise M. Erickson (Nathan), Harrisburg and Daniel M. Hatter (Andrea), Jonestown; three granddaughters, Ava, Destiny and Faith Erickson; one brother, Merwin "Bud" Hatter (Nancy), Donaldson; nieces, nephews and many friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, November 8th at 2:00 pm from the Tremont Fire Company, 21 Middlecreek Road, Tremont with Pastor Annette Shutt. Burial will be in the Donaldson Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:00 at the Fire Company. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Donaldson Fire Company, 1 W. Center Street, Donaldson, PA 17981 or Tremont Ambulance Association, 49 North Street, Tremont, PA 17981 in Prune's memory.
