The American Red Cross is assisting after a fire in Pottsville Monday morning destroyed one home and damaged two others.
Around 9:45am, emergency personnel were dispatched to 914 Race Street, Pottsville for a house fire.
The first Chief to arrive on scene found heavy fire from the front of 914, which was in the middle of a row. A second house was already involved and a third was being threatened.
Thanks to the quick response by firefighters, the fire was contained two those three homes, which was in the middle of the block. 914 was considered destroyed and 912 and 916 suffered damage.
By 10:30am, the fire was marked under control.
One victim was reported to have suffered minor injuries.
The American Red Cross reports that they are assisting two families totaling four people with food, clothing, and lodging.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
