East Union Township Police arrested a man for breaking into the home of his ex-girlfriend on Wednesday.

According to East Union Township Police Chief Thomas Rentschler, on Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 around 11:45am, he received a dispatch for a reported break-in in progress.

Chief Rentschler arrived at the location and was able to gain access to the home and found a downstairs bathroom window screen cut open.   In an upstairs bedroom, Rentschler found Jeremy Ragan, 25, no known address. Ragan told police that he was allowed to be there but said he had to cut the screen to gain access to the home.

After Ragan was handcuffed and secured, his ex-girlfriend and her two children, ages 10 and were found in another room of the home.

The ex-girlfriend told Rentschler that she was sleeping and woke up when Ragan crawled into her bed.

The ex-girlfriend also said she had to call the police around 1:30am after Ragan was texting her stating he was outside the home.  She said he was threatening to smash her windows if she didn't let him in.

East Union Township Police had also responded to an incident at the home involving Ragan and a verbal altercation on November 9th, 2020 around 8:00pm.  During this incident, he was told not to return.

Chief Rentschler charged Ragan with burglary, criminal trespass, and criminal mischief.
