Frances Trusow, 88, of Bethlehem, formerly of St. Clair, died Monday November 9, 2020, at Old Orchard Healthcare, Easton PA.
Born in Pottsville, October 14, 1932, She was a daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Smith) Trusow.
She worked as as a Seamstress for several area factories and was a member of the ILGWU.
Frances was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair.
Frances enjoyed being involved in activities at Lutheran Manor such as bus trips, holiday parties and church. She was a critical part of a small team that put together a petition to get a crosswalk added in front of Lutheran Manor for safer walking conditions for residents. Everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her knew she was a character. Francy was the social butterfly of Lutheran Manor, always stopping to tell a story, share a riddle or just to chat. Her favorite pastimes were reading the newspaper, watching QVC and talking on the phone. She was known to keep you on the phone for hours but would promptly end the call before 7pm to be able to catch The Daily Number. She also liked to spend her time cheering on the Eagles and the Phillies. She enjoyed a cup of coffee with every meal but would gladly give it up for a cold Yuengling Lager.
She was preceded in death by beloved companion George Semanchik; 2 brothers Joseph and John Trusow; and a sister Eileen Hilthon.
Surviving are a daughter Georgine Urenko, and her husband Michael of Bethlehem; brother Gene Trusow, of CO; 2 granddaughters Courtney Korn, and her husband Alex, of Bethlehem; and Cayley Urenko of VA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Nov. 13, 2020 at 1:00 PM Friday from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair, PA 17970. The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser will be officiating.. Friends may call from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Friday at Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home 110 North 2nd Street ST. Clair, PA 17970. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank 6969 Silver Crest Road, Nazareth, PA 18064 or Make-A-Wish Foundation, 101 N. Centre St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Mr. Robert T. "Bob" Swartz, age 90, of Morea, passed away Tuesday at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation in Frackville.
Mr. Robert T. "Bob" Swartz, age 90, of Morea, passed away Tuesday at Broad Mountain Nursing & Rehabilitation in Frackville.
Born in Frackville he was the son of the late Charles and Sarah (Kramer) Swartz. He attended Frackville schools and was a United States Air Force veteran. A diesel mechanic, he worked for and retired from Caterpillar in Frackville. A master of his trade his free time was most often spent repairing vehicles for his family, friends and neighbors. At will he could dismantle a vehicles' engine and put if back together seemingly effortlessly. An avid auto racing fan Sunday's were spent watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite drivers Bill & Chase Elliott. He also over the years, often with his wife, son and nephew in tow, attended many, many races at local dirt tracks rooting for the Tobias family of racers.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife the former Theresa Mercuri in July of this year as well as brothers William, Charles, Russell and Wilbur and sisters Sarah Kleckner, Verna Lore, Gertrude Murray and Jean Sokol.
Survivors include one son Robert A. "Bob" Swartz and his wife Debbie of Frackville, a granddaughter Kimberly Swartz of Reading, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a religious service to be held on Monday morning at 11 AM from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. The Rev. Fred T. Crawford will officiate.
Interment with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning beginning at 9:30 AM. All attending must wear a mask and follow COVID 19 guidelines. Please sign the guest book at www.jarrettfuneralhome.com.

Jean Freeman, 84, formerly of Forestville, Cass Township, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 9, at her daughter’s home in Virginia.
Born in Forestville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey D. Brennan, Sr. and the late Camilla Strange Brennan. She was a 1953 graduate of Cass Township High School and also a graduate of the former Thompson Business Institute.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Leroy “Dick” Freeman, in 1984; her son, Richard Freeman, in 2000; two brothers, Harvey Brennan, Jr. and John “Rab” Brennan.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Laura Noel (fiancĂ©, John “Dutch” Collamore), Deltaville, Virginia; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Noel (fiancĂ©e, Leeanne Shepherd), Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Jacqueline Noel, Silverthorne, Colorado; nieces and nephews; her canine friend, Lucky.

Paul Frayne Stahler, 80 years of age, of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem.
Born in 1940 in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Frayne A. and Hilda P. (Kistler) Stahler. Paul was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Susie (Rochelle) Stahler, just 17 days earlier on October 24, 2020.
Surviving are daughters, Kelly R. Kichline and her husband Scott M. Kichline of Henderson, NV and Kim R. Stahler and her husband John A. Zukowski of Reading, PA; brother, Earl R. Stahler and his wife Lora of Alamogordo, NM; and grandson, Dexter S. Kichline, of Henderson, NV.
A 1959 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Paul served honorably in the United States Marines and retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 31 years, having worked in many capacities there including electrician and millwright. For the Andreas VFW Post #5069, he was a Trustee, active member, and enthusiastic poppy seller. Paul enjoyed history, photography, traveling, bicycling, automobiles, cats, and class reunions, having attended his 60th in 2019. He was able to build and fix almost anything, a talent honed while working on family farms.

Lois I. Miller Welsh, 95, a lifelong resident of Williamstown, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Williamstown, May 31, 1925, a daughter of the late Louis and Lida Cole Miller. Lois was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown and the Parish Council of Catholic Women. Lois and her late husband were mentors in the catholic church for many years, teaching Pre-Cana classes.
Joe and Lois were also co-founders of the Williamstown Historical Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Welsh, Sr., 1997; a son, James P. Welsh, 2004, sister Lorraine, brothers; Lane and Lawrence.
Surviving are her five children, Joanne E. Ulsh and her husband Roger, Orwin; Joseph F. Welsh, Jr. and his wife Patti, Wiconisco; John M. Welsh and his wife Cindy, Williamstown; Francis J. Welsh and his wife Cathy, Memphis, TN and Christopher R. Welsh and his wife Tansy, Williamstown; one sister, Laura Underkoffler, New York. 16 grandchildren 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 16th at 11:00 am from her church with Rev. Michael Opoki, AJ as celebrant. Please follow CDC guidelines. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the church. Dr. Peter A. Boltz, 77, a resident of Shenandoah Manor, formerly of Pottsville, died Thursday Nov 5, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
He was born March 3, 1943 in Pottsville a son of the late Benjamin and Hulda Kangas Boltz.
He attended Pottsville High School was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, he received is Associates Degree from Mitchell Community College, his Bachelors Degree from Muhlenberg and his Masters Degree from the University of Pennsylvania .
He was a psychologist most of his life prior to retiring.
He was preceded in death a his wife Marci Zuckosky Boltz; a sister, Bonnie Jean Wetzler.
Surviving are a son, Jacob Boltz, Port Carbon; a daughter, Karen Wapinski, Philadelphia; a brother, Benjamin Boltz, Rutland, VT; a sister, Ann Tihansky, Pine Grove.
Service will be held at the convenience of the family at Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Joseph Aloysius “Chickie” Chiccine, 89, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday, November 7th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest due to covid pnenomia. He spent the last two years as a resident of Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
Joseph was born in Pottsville, on September 13, 1931, the son of the late Dorothy (Glenn) and Joseph J. Chiccine. He was a 1949 graduate of St Clair High School and attended Drafting school in Ashland. Joseph was a Navy Veteran and served on the USS Wisconsin. He was a retired liquor salesman and also worked for the Pottsville Housing Authority.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Michael Chiccine.
Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph P. Chiccine and daughters Lisa and Mary Ellen Chiccine. Joseph is also survived by his grandchildren: Cara Chiccine, Jonathan and Emily Mehrman; sister, Dorothy Manion, wife of Ted; former wife and dear friend Theresa Rinaldo; Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Joseph was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Pottsville. He was also a member of Walter Griffiths Amvets Post 180, Catholic War Vets Post 1051 and Minersville American Legion Post 544. He loved having dinners with his family and friends and spending time at Palermos Restaurant. He loved sports, especially football, baseball and horse racing.
The family would like to thank the staff at Schuylkill Center for the wonderful care.
Mass and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Faye E. Davis, 86, of Pottsville died on Tuesday at Providence Place of Pottsville.
Born February 28, 1934, in Pottsville; She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth McGinley.
She was a 1952 Graduate of Pottsville High School and married to the love of her life James F. Davis for 61 years until his passing in November 2015.
Faye and Jim were the former owners the Davis Office Building and Davis Trucking.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville and served as a Sunday School teacher and council member for several years and the Pottsville Club.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Eugene, James and Gary.
Surviving are her children Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel David Davis, and his wife Debra, Springfield, Virginia; and Kevin Davis and his wife Dianne, Houston, Texas; and Sheri Johnson and her husband Mark, San Diego, California; six grandchildren: Sarah Detty and Michael Davis, Spencer and Clayton Davis, Ali and Ashely Johnson and great granddaughter Julie Detty; nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be private from Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville
