Eleanor L. Laguna, 88, formerly of St. Clair, entered into God’s Kingdom peacefully Tuesday November 10, 2020, while at residence at The Gardens at York Terrace, Pottsville.
Born in Philadelphia, September 9, 1932, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Albert Sr. and Anna (Sokitis) Razzis.
Eleanor took great pride in her work as a member of the custodial staff in the St Clair School District from about 1976 to 1988. From there, she worked in the kitchen for the former Clarion House and to the Oak Hill Inn.
Eleanor was known to her family as Mother, Mom, Bahbah, Mommom and aunt. She always put family first and provided many wonderful memories for Holidays and Birthdays. She prepared many of the ethnic foods she learned to cook from her husband’s family, especially what her family loved the most, her halupkies.
Eleanor was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of St.
Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Clair. She volunteered often for picnics and banquets.
She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Laguna; daughter Roseann Helman; brother Albert Razzis Jr.
Surviving is a daughter Nada Laguna and her husband Bernard Corby of St. Clair; 2 sons Peter Laguna and his wife Sandy of St. Clair; Daniel Laguna and his wife Trena Duffield of Aurora, CO; a sister Dorothy Levanovitch of Pottstown; son in law Harold Helman of Minersville; Grandchildren Jamie Laguna, Tara Helman, Jodi Helman and Neil Laguna Great Grandchildren Abriana Chua daughter of Jamie, Aiden Mataka son of Tara and Emma Laguna daughter of Neil; Nieces and Nephews.
Divine Liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday from St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 105 North Morris Street St. Clair 17970 with Monsignor Myron Grabowski officiating. Friends may call from
8:45-10:45 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School 515 N Front St Minersville PA 17954
Burial will be in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, St. Clair

Donald Wayne Schwartz, 76, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday November 10, 2020, at St. Luke’s University Hospital – Bethlehem.
Born in Austin, Texas, August 1, 1944, He was a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Garrett) Schwartz.
He was attended of Schuylkill Haven High School, where he was a standout 3 sport varsity athlete in Football, Basketball and Baseball. He played Legion baseball for Frackville before playing Semi-Pro for the Bethel Pirates. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of fame Allen Rogowicz Chapter where he received the Meritorious Achievement Award. Donald then gave back as a coach for New Philadelphia Little League and Schuylkill Valley Teener League for many years.
Donald worked as a Millwright for Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Bethlehem until its closure. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local #2599 and also exceled in the union’s slow pitch softball league for his team “The Green Machine”.
He was of the Lutheran Faith; Member of Deep Run All Sports Club and Lone Pine Sportsman Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Kelly Jean (Schwartz) Lloyd on August 3, 2020.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years Rosalie (Benulis) Schwartz; a daughter Susan Schroding and her husband Kyle; 2 sons Don Schwartz and his wife Stephanie; Dr. Wesley Schwartz and his companion Jessica Eiler; brother Joseph Schwartz and his wife Sally; Carolyn Miller wife of the late John Miller; Cheryl Nebistinsky and her husband Leonard; Donna Halpern and her husband Alden; Grandchildren Kaia Phillips and her husband Matt; Kaitlyn Schroding and her companion Nicholas Harman; Abby Schroding; Kyle Schroding Jr.; Peightyn Schwartz and Samantha Lloyd; Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Gladys Faye Schickram, 81, of Orwigsburg, passed away Thursday, November 12th, at Manorcare Health Services, Pottsville.
Gladys was born in Auburn on July 19, 1939, a daughter of the late Bertha L. (Wildermuth) and Irvin C. Baver.
She was the wife of Martin Albert Schickram. They were married July 6, 1979.
She was a member of Lighthouse Church Orwigsburg and was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in Schuylkill Haven. She was a machine operator at Sylray in Orwigsburg for over 40 years.
Gladys is survived by a son, Dennis Zulick, husband of June as well as a stepson, Joel Schickram, husband of Louise; grandson Jeremy Zulick, granddaughter Heather Dampman, wife of Neil; great granddaughter Abigail Zulick, great grandson Justice Dampman; step grandchildren Ashley, Joel and Jennifer as well as great great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her first husband Harry Zulick as well as siblings Irvin, Floyd and Martha.
A religious service will be held at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg. Tuesday, November 17, at 11 AM with Pastor William Orf officiating. The public is invited to call from 9 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park. Guests are asked to follow CDC guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19.

James Walter Stine Jr. 64, formerly of Gordon, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - E Norwegian, Pottsville.
He was born October 27, 1956, in Ashland, a son of the late James W Stine, Sr and Gloria Carl Stine.
He was a graduate of the Patterson School, Pottsville.
James was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Weishample, and a former member of the Gordon Fire Company.
"Reuben" enjoyed hanging out at Chicks cafe, and never hesitated in helping others around Gordon.
He kept busy doing word search books, adult coloring books, and painting.
James is survived by brother Roger J. Stine and wife Christina of Hegins; sister, Gloria Wise, Hegins; and brother Terry L. Stine and wife Deborah Gordon; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at Citizen's Cemetery, Lavelle on Tuesday November 17, 2020 at 11A.M, adhering to CDC guidelines, masks required and social distancing will be observed.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Ashton Keynes, England, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Beatrice Bennett.
Eve was a dedicated housewife who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville and was a member of the Schuylkill County International Club.
In addition to her parents and her brother David, Eve was also preceded in death by her husband Tony in 2006.
Eve is survived by a daughter, Sharon Smith and her husband Wayne, Marlin; a son Stephen Brilla and his wife Nancy, Forest Hills; 3 grandchildren, Lauren DelValle and her husband Tanner, Zachary Smith and his wife Katie and Jared Smith and his wife Grace; 7 great grandchildren, Maverick, Reagan, Norah, Camden, Van, Chase and Harper; nieces and nephews. Eve is also survived by a sister Janice Allen and a brother Royston Bennett, Ashton Keynes, England.
The family would like to thank her caregivers from Bayada and Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. Also, the family would like to give a special thanks to Angie for all you did for our Mom.
Requiem Divine Liturgy will be at 11AM Monday in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 415 Front St, Minersville. Reverend Mark Fesniak will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Monday morning from 10AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to Saint Nicholas School, Minersville. All attendees are expected to follow current CDC COVID-19 guidance regarding social distancing and wearing masks.
Interment will be in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Llewellyn.

Peter Joseph "Pete" Shellong Sr., 73, of Wayne Township, passed away peacefully, Monday, Nov. 9, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Feb. 23, 1947, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Adella (Lutchkus) and John Shellong.
Pete attended St. Ambrose schools and was employed at Fairmont Foundry, Hamburg, for 52 years before retiring at the age of 70. He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Shellong and wife, Kathryn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Peter J. Shellong Jr., husband of Melanie, of Georgia; a daughter, Cindy Boyer, wife of Steve, of Wayne Township; grandchildren, Nikki and Shaunna Shellong and Abigail Boyer; nieces and nephews.
Pete was a very proud, hardworking man who loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed!

Bonnie J. Brennan, 70, of West West Terrace, Branch twp. passed away Friday, November 6th, at Lehigh Valley Health East, Pottsville.
Bonnie was born in Pottsville, Pa. on August 10, 1950, a daughter of the late Regina (Hudock) and Joseph Perambo. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Minersville and Saint Matthew the Evangelist Church of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville. Bonnie was a graduate of Minersville Area High school class of 1969. She was happily married to Michael Brennan for 47 years. Bonnie was a retired paraprofessional from The Intermediate Unit 29, she truly loved spending time with the students. Bonnie enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and friends and embarking on new adventures. When Bonnie wasn’t traveling the world, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family was her pride and joy. Bonnie is remembered by many for hosting gatherings for family and friends and capturing the fun times through all of her photos.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Michael, a daughter, Kelly Brennan, wife of Jeffrey Frankenstein two sons; Patrick Brennan and Sean, husband of Alyssa Brennan, Bonnie is also survived by brothers; Jeffrey & Vince Perambo. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ella Frankenstein and Layla Brennan. Nieces and nephews.
For the safety of family and friends, the services will be for immediate family only. The family is planning a celebration of life hopefully in the summer Interment St. Stanislaus Kostka #2 Cemetery. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.
