On Sunday, volunteers from the Ashland Rotary and Ashland Fire Department spent their Sunday decorating the Ashland Christmas Tree.
According to Rotary President, Joann Birster, the 2020 Christmas tree for the borough is a 25 foot tall Blue Spruce that was donated by David Hampton of Butler Township. The tree was one of 4 trees donated this year, 3 from Hampton and another from Germanville Road. This is also the borough's first blue spruce in their history of Christmas trees.
Birster says she is happy that the borough will have Christmas trees available for the borough for the next several years.
During Sunday's decorating, the Washington Fire Company used their ladder truck to place the tree topper as well as string the lights.
The Ashland Fire Police also provided traffic control at the intersection of Hoffman Boulevard and Centre Street.
The tree is expected to be lit Thanksgiving night with an official tree lighting taking place following the Rotary's Santa Parade on Saturday, November 28th, 2020 at 6:00pm.
