Pottsville Property Continues to Crumble

A property that has been a problem since the summer in Pottsville prompted a call to the city emergency personnel on Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, the Pottsville Fire Department and city officials were back at 313 West Market Street, Pottsville, after more of the property continued to deteriorate.

Sunday's problem alerted personnel after part of the building continued to collapse.

The property has been deteriorating for several months and has closed the 300 Block of West Market Street several times due to debris falling from the building.

Crews on Sunday installed extra support on the 2nd and 3rd floors to help prevent any further collapse.

Emergency personnel cleared up the scene and secured what they could until the building is demolished.  West Market Street has since reopened.
