Born in Pottsville on December 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Peter J. and Mildred (Eagan) DeAngeles.
He was a graduate of Pottsville High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
William was a devout Catholic. He was member of St. Patrick R.C.C. and a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace R.C.C.
He worked at Alcoa as a machinist for over 30 years, retiring in 1984. He also helped to run the family grocery store for over 50 years.
William was a member of the Buck Fever Rod & Gun Club since 1965 and a charter member of Catholic War Vets Post 1051, Pottsville, PA.
He was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman at Buck Fever Cabin in Potter County and also an avid pinochle player on various local teams.
William was a semi professional baseball player with the fishbach team and other teams throughout the 40's and 50's.
He loved his family and most enjoyed attending his grandson's sporting events.
William was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Lucas, and brother, Peter DeAngeles.
He is survived by his wife, Ann T. "Nancy" (Reddington), to whom he was married 65 years; sons: Peter T., companion of Alicia Watson, of Pottsville; William M. Jr., husband of Kathleen, of Pottsville; daughter, Patricia A. Holanchock, wife of Howard, of Lake Wynonah; grandchildren: Stephen and Nicholas; great grandson, Ace; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December, 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick R.C.C., 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, until the procession will leave for church.
Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.

George Machay, 62, of Tuscarora, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec.17, 2020 in his home. He was the husband of Ruth Ann (Kleinhagen) Machay, to whom he was married 33 years.
Born in Pottsville, the son of the late George and Leona (Yarnall) Machay.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Huss Contracting of Andreas.
George, was a member, past president and fire chief of the Tuscarora Fire Company and served as a volunteer EMT with the former Tuscarora Ambulance Association. George was an avid mechanic
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Lori A. Young and her companion Nathan Shrift, Dawn M. wife of Albert Clouser and Donald M. Knoblauch, all of Tamaqua; a brother, Kevin and his wife, Georgianne of Tuscarora; and seven grandchildren, Levi, Kennedy and Hope Young, Rachel, River and Brooklyn Knoblauch and Gavin Clouser. Many nieces and nephews also survive George.

Jan Joseph Perla, 58 years of age, of Lake Hauto, Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania formerly of Tamaqua passed away from courageous battle with cancer on Friday, December 18, 2020, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
Born Wednesday, May 16, 1962 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania son of the late John Joseph, and Jeanne A. (Moser) Perla. He was also predeceased by; sisters, Sandra Perla, Candice Perla, Martha Koch, Mary Ann (Perla) Mangone; brothers, John, and Kevin Perla.
Surviving are; his daughter whom he adored, Jannelle Perla of Tamaqua; brothers, Gerald Perla of Tamaqua, Eugene Perla and his wife Margaret of Tamaqua, Walter Perla of Tamaqua, Todd Perla of Tamaqua; sisters, Lori Miller and her husband Craig of Barnesville, Sheila Davison-Bray and her husband Jack of Nesquehoning, with whom he resided. Many nieces and nephews also survive Jan.
Jan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing; however, his greatest talent was his green thumb. Jan loved spending time with family and friends. He will greatly missed by all.

William E. Lorah, Sr., 94 , of Brandonville, passed away Friday, December 18th, 2020.
Bill was born in Brandonville on November, 15, 1926, the son of the late Norman and Edna (Klectner) Lorah.
Bill was retired, having been employed by the Huss Contacting Company at the Refactory Sand Plant in Andreas, as a foreman.
He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Brandonville.
An avid hunter, he was a lifetime member of the Park Crest Fish and Game Club in Ringtown. Bill and his wife Catherine enjoyed camping with their friends as well as traveling, having visited every state east of the Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Catherine (Drumheller) Lorah, in January of 2020, and by a brother and two sisters.
Bill is survived by two children, William Lorah, Jr., and his wife Linda of Brandonville and Jean, wife of Thomas Sharkey, of Hazle Township.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Audra Flaherty, Amanda Lorah, Aaron Lorah, Thomas W. Sharkey, Beth Ann Sannie, Michael Sharkey and Erik Sharkey. 8 great grandchildren also survive, as do nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 at the Brandonville Union Cemetery, with his Pastor, Jay Serafin officiating. All Covid-19 mandates, including wearing a mask and social distancing will be adhered to.
In lieu of flowers, Bill's family asks that memorial donations be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Brandonville in his memory.

John C. Smith, age 78, of Spotsylvania VA, passed away at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Spotsylvania County, VA. on November 20, 2020.
Born December 1, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Ann and John P. Smith. John was raised in Baltimore MD, with family roots in Ashland, PA. After high school graduation, John continued his education and graduated from St. Francis College in Loretto, PA. A United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, John later was self-employed in the lumber industry until his retirement.
Having attained the rank of captain, John lived his life by the Marine Corps motto, Semper Fidelis.
He enjoyed hunting, Notre Dame football, Wimbledon tennis and was a lifelong birder. For many years he volunteered with migratory bird counting groups. John shared his knowledge and love of birds with many people.
John was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Spotsylvania, VA.
He is survived by his cousins, friends and his St. Matthew Church family.
