Jane Bubernak, 86, of Mahoning Township, PA and formerly Coaldale, PA, died on Monday, December 21, 2020 in Mahoning Township. She was the wife of the late Michael Bubernak.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 18, 1934, Jane was the daughter of the late Alexis and Margaret (nee Mann) Johnson. A high school graduate, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Rochester College. Jane was an elementary teacher for the Panther Valley School District. She was a member of St. Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale and a former member and past president of the Coaldale Business and Professional Women’s Club.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in St. Mary Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Summit Hill, PA with The Very Rev. James P. Weremedic officiating.

Robert D Flannery, age 77, of Hegins, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his residence.
He was born on Sunday, October 17, 1943, in Piney View, WV, a son of the late James E Flannery and the late Ruby E (Jividen) Flannery.
He was a member of the Valley View Gun Club.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing euchre, and helping his friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife Ruth A. (Updegrave) Flannery, to whom he was married for 43 years.
He is also survived by five sons, James Flannery and his wife Kathy of West Virginia, Dwayne Flannery of Lykens, Timothy Flannery of Virginia, Anthony Updegrave and his wife Jessica of Klingerstown, and Dan Flannery and his wife Tara of Harrisburg; eleven grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Flannery of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating.
Burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Hegins Area Ambulance Association, 352 Gap Street, Valley View, PA 17983.

Robert R. O’Connor, 83, of Pottsville, passed away on Sunday evening in Schuylkill Center.
Born in Heckscherville on November 17, 1937, he was a son of the late Francis and Catherine (Casey) O’Connor.
He was a 1956 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School, where he played football.
Robert was a member of St. Patrick R.C.C., Pottsville.
He was a foreman for Rockland Furniture and a member of the Teamsters Local 429-Reading.
Robert loved John Wayne, Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maryann (Kadingo) in 1984; second wife, Mary Jane (Curran) in 2018; and sons: Robert K. and Colin R. O’Connor.
Robert is survived by his sons: John F. “Jack”, husband of Cheryl, of Hometown; James M., husband of Tammy, of Wilkes Barre; grandchildren: Timothy J. O’Connor; Allison L. Stewart; Ashley O’Connor; Kevin O’Connor; Caitlyn Marculla; and James R. O'Connor and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December, 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc. 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.

James R. Robert Hess, 80, of Honeysuckle Ct. , Pine Grove, formerly of St. Clair, died Friday December 18, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Pottsville, August 26, 1940, He was a son of the late James and Nellie (Peleckis) Hess.
He served in both the United States Marines Corp. and the US Army.
Jim graduated from St Clair High School where he later became a High School Social Studies Teacher for the School District until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, Knights of Lithuania Anthracite Council 144; Delaware Weapons Association; American Society of Military Insignia Collectors; St. Clair Community and Historical Society; Association of School Retirees; Schuylkill County Wood Carvers, and American Legion Post 719, St. Clair, PA.
Surviving are his wife Margaret “Peg” Conroy Hess, 2 daughters, Erica Ramus and her husband Gary of Schuylkill Haven; Lisa Hale and her husband Tom of Pine Grove; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Schnerring, Ashley Hale, Dakota Ramus, Brandon Ramus, great grandson Colton Ramus 2 sisters Judith Burns and her husband Tom of Newark, DE; Nancy Lenhart of Harrison Valley; 3 step-sons, Joseph McElvaney, Sean McElvaney both of Phoenix, AZ; David McElvaney of St. Clair;nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Tuesday Dec. 22, 2020from St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 250 E. Hancock St. St. Clair. The Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser will be officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 AM – Noon Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial Fund; Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
Born Dec. 20, 1939, in Tremont, he was a son of the late George F. Sr. and Emma (Eberly) Marx.
He was a graduate of Tremont High School and member of St. John Lutheran Church, Tremont.
George worked as a milkman starting in the 1950s at Rothermel’s Food Craft Dairy in Minersville. He later then started George’s Dairy Products, delivering house to house, until he retired in 2001. He was one of the last independent home delivery milkmen in Schuylkill County. He then became a delivery van driver for the Republican Herald newspaper.
He loved Elvis and country music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella (Fatula) Marx, in 2016; daughter, Wendy Harris; a sister, Rose Hancock-Shaw.
Surviving are four sons, George Marx, of Port Carbon, Kevin Marx, of Allentown, Brian Marx, of Pottsville, and Kenneth Marx, of Pottsville; two daughters, Crystal Novak, of Cressona, Jodi Gibson, of Pottsville; two stepsons, John Slinski and Stephen Slinski; one stepdaughter, Gloria Montgomery; sister, Joan Hoover, of Elizabethtown; brother, David Marx, of Tower City; former wife, Nancy Whalen, of Pottsville; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont
Born in Pottsville, April 22, 1961, a son of the late Gilbert and Helen Mooney Johnson.
Doug was a 1979 graduate of Williams Valley High School; He was employed in the maintenance department at Ingram Micro, Jonestown; he previously was employed for over 25 years at Guilford Mills, Pine Grove.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Tania Carl Johnson, September 14, 2019.
Surviving are his two children, Tricia M. Pannebacker and her husband Aaron, Harrisburg and Douglas "DJ" Johnson, Jr., Williamstown; step-granddaughter, Jilia Pannebaker; three brothers, Brad Johnson, St. Clair; Steve Johnson, Shenandoah; Tim Johnson, Millersburg; nieces and nephews.

Sara J Bressler, age 93, of Hegins, passed away peacefully from this world Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg after contracting pneumonia. She now rejoins her loving husband as they will spend their 1st Christmas together in 21 years and complete their journey.
She was born on Friday, November 25, 1927, in Lykens, a daughter of the late Calvin L Engle and the late Catherine E (Hoffman) Engle.
She was a graduate of the former Berrysburg High School.
Sara was a cafeteria worker at Tri-Valley High School and also worked on the family farm.
She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain.
She was also a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens and the former Red Hats Group of her church.
Sara enjoyed crafts, baking, and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Thomas H Bressler, passed away in 1999. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Gayle; and by five siblings Earl, Marlin, Robert, Lawrence, and Mildred.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine J Bowman and her husband Jerry of Valley View, and Jan M Fairchild and her husband Jim of Lithia, FL; three sons, Tommy L Bressler and his wife Karen of Hegins, Scott L Bressler of Hegins and his companion Jami Fisher, and Jon L Bressler and his wife Diane of Hegins; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services for her family will be held at Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain, with Rev. Michael C Klahr officiating. Due to the current pandemic all attending will be asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Burial will be made in Fountain Community Cemetery.

Mae A. Bailey, 92, formerly of McKeansburg and Tower City, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Laurel Center, Hamburg.
Born in Dorset, May 2, 1928, a daughter of the late William and Lillie Kanter Osenbach.
Mae was a retired supervisor in the garment industry.
Mae was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, where she was active with the kitchen committee. She was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and also volunteered at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mae had been a long time member of the Friedens Lutheran Church, New Ringgold.
Mae was preceded in death by her husband, George, 1995; three sisters, Beatrice, Miriam and Ruth; four brothers, Earl, William, Robert and Paul, a step brother, George.
Surviving are her three children, Diane Spath, Schuylkill Haven; Kathleen D'Agostino and her husband Joseph, Williamstown; Dennis Bailey and his wife Eleanore, Florida; one sister, Mammie Williams, Tamaqua; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren.
Mae will be laid to rest privately in the Friedens Union Cemetery, New Ringgold.
