On Sunday, family, friends, and members of the community helped celebrate a well-known Girardville woman's milestone.
Bernadine "Bernie" Chupasko, has been a celebrity in the small borough of Girardville and surrounding communities through working at Tony's Lunch, serving Screamers for decades.
Chupasko retired from the restaurant back in 2014 after working at the restaurant for 59 years.
On Sunday, Bernie, as everyone knows her, turned 90 years old and was unable to celebrate her birthday in person with her family and friends but they weren't going to let that stop the party.
The community organized a special "drive-by" parade celebration outside Bernie's home. The parade included dozens of vehicles filled with family, friends and her Tony's Lunch fans.
Participants decorated their cars and yelled out well wishes as they passed by led by the Girardville Police, Girardville Hose Co., and Girardville Rangers Hose Co.
