On Tuesday, the Boscovs announced they would be closing all 6 of their restaurants that are located inside their department stores in Pennsylvania.
The announcement includes the Fairlane Village Mall location in Pottsville.
The company referenced the effects of COVID-19 on the restaurant industry as the reason for the closure.
"The effects of COVID-19 have been devastating to the restaurant industry this past year including the restaurants at Boscov’s. This has forced us to make the very difficult decision to close our six remaining Boscov’s Restaurants. We are grateful to our loyal restaurant customers for their many years of support and to our restaurant coworkers." the company released in a statement.
The Pottsville and Reading East locations will both close on January 30th, 2021 while the Reading North, Wilkes Barre, Hazleton, and Dover locations are already closed.
The company says the former restaurant spaces will be renovated to provide an expanded and more convenient shopping experience.
