A road in Mahanoy Township is closed after a crash Thursday morning.
Around 11:15am, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Suffolk Road and West Centre Street in Mahanoy Township for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
Emergency personnel are at the scene and have closed the road after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and wires are down.
Mahanoy Township Police said the West Centre Street between Suffolk Road and Gilberton will be closed for several hours while the scene is cleared.
One person was injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital.
Police said the crash is still under investigation.
