As a business owner and former manager with a local window and door manufacturer for over 20 years, Selgrade believes he has the logical reasoning, temperament, and common sense to serve the people within the district.
"It is imperative for the court to treat people fairly and impartially, free of political influence or intimidation and without bias." Selgrade said.
Selgrade plans to cross-file on both the Republican and Democratic tickets in the May Primary Election. The district includes Ashland, Frackville, Gilberton, Girardville, Gordon and Ringtown Boroughs, and Butler, North Union, Ryan and Union townships and the Altamont Precinct of West Mahanoy Township.
Selgrade is a life-long resident of Girardville, and is civic minded and involved with many local organizations. He is a member of the Ashland Public Library Board, president of the Girardville Good Time Club, president of the board of trustees for the Ashland First United Methodist Presbyterian Church, and member of the newly formed Girardville Basketball Association Board.
Selgrade was formerly elected and served 12 years on the North Schuylkill Board of Education, was a founding board member of the Schuylkill Transportation Authority, (appointed by then Schuylkill County Commissioners Francis “Angie” McAndrew, Mantura Gallagher, and Frank Staudenmeier), served on the Schuylkill County Rail Authority and served for 10 years as President of the Girardville Little League and Teener League.
Selgrade and his wife Sandy own and operate Centiole’s Pizza in Girardville and have 3 children, Mack, Shea and Skye.
