George H. Montgomery, 45 of Frackville, passed away on Jan 16th in Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville. He was the husband of Candice (Reber) Montgomery for 13 years. 

 Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late George H and Linda (Marhon) Montgomery. George was most know for being active in all of the local area fire companies since he was 18 years old including, Englewood Fire Co., Altamont, Washington and Goodwill Fire Companies. His volunteer efforts had been for over 27 years. He was a 1993 graduate of North Schuylkill Jr Sr. High School, Ashland. 

Surviving in addition to his wife Candi is one daughter, Aryana Montgomery, at home; sisters, Melissa M. Perneta and Sharon L. Yeager, both of Frackville, Kelly A. Montgomery, Shenandoah, PA, Wendy L. Weikel, Ashland, PA; Extended family, aunt Rosalie Bova, uncles John Marhon and joe Marhon all of Frackville, 9 nieces and nephews and cousins 

 A viewing will be held locally for George on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Cramp Hummel & Mark J. Hummel Funeral Homes of Reading have charge of his arrangements 610-375-4337.

Leroy H. Bressler, Jr.
, 82, of Llewellyn, passed away Sunday, January 17th, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.

Born in Auburn, PA on July 7, 1938, a son of the late Kathryn (Lubold) and Leroy Bressler, Sr.

He was the husband of Janet L. (Tobias) Bressler.

He was a member of Phoenix Park Union Church, Phoenix Park.

He was formerly employed as a camera operator at Pennsylvania Industry for the Blind and Handicap.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Virginia Mitchell, Llewellyn, Timother Bressler, Llewellyn, Kevin Bressler husband of Denise, Tremont and Yvonne Cunningham wife of Michael, Pottsville; grandchildren Rochelle, Ashley, Virginia, David, Sarah, Anthony, Rosalee and Abbylee; five great grandchildren.

Leroy is preceded in death by his sister Doris Davenport and granddaughter Jacklyn Zelinsky.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held 2:30 on Wednesday, January 20th at Phoenix Park Union Church in Phoenix Park, with Pastor George Somers officiating.

A viewing for family and friends will be held 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 20th at Phoenix Park Union Church in Phoenix Park.

Interment will be private.

Russel G. Lower, Jr.
, 72, of Tower City, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at UPMC-Pinnacle, Harrisburg, after a courageous fight against COVID-19.

Born in Pottsville, July 8, 1948, a son of the late Russel Sr. and Lillian Johs Lower.

Russ was a 1966 graduate of Williams Valley High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and was employed for 36 years as a Technician for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. After retiring he worked for 10 years in the Administrative Officer for the Pennsylvania Air National Air Guard, all based out of the headquarters at Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville.

He was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church, a life member of the Liberty Hose Company #1, Williamstown; a life member of the Dauphin County Fireman's Association; a life member of the Williamstown American Legion Post #239 and its' former military band and a member of West End Fire Company. He also participated with the Williams Valley Alumni Band and was formerly active with the Williams Valley Marching Band Boosters.

Russ was very community minded, he was instrumental in forming the Porter - Tower Girl's Softball Association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Laila, the apple of his eye. He was a fan of the Eagles, Phillies, Penn State and Williams Valley sports. Russ took great pride in his home, and always looked forward to decorating for every holiday.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Brenda Girton Lower; two daughters, Lauren Shutt and her husband Larry, Orwin and Heather Zerembo and her husband Robert, Tower City; one granddaughter, Laila Shutt.

A public walk through viewing following all CDC guidelines will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 6-8 pm from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Tower City. Russ will be laid to rest privately with military honors in the Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Russ' name should be made to West End Fire Company, 326 Rear, West Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980 or the Williamstown United Methodist Church, 150 East Street, Williamstown, PA 17098. William "Chopper' Rumbel, 73, a resident of Frackville, passed away on Saturday, January 16th, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon.
