Residents who live in Auburn are urged not to drink the borough's water after an incident this weekend.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, their barracks received a report from the Auburn Municipal Authority that some time between Friday, February 19th, 2021 and Sunday, February 21st, 2021, two unknown suspects broke into a secure area around the borough's water storage tank near Cemetery Road.
Troopers say the suspects climbed the tower and damaged an aluminum vent at the top of the 300,000 gallon tank.
On Sunday morning, an alert was issued and announced by the Auburn Fire Company urging the borough's 900 citizens not to drink the water, as a precautionary measure.
