A Girardville man was taken into custody after being wanted for burglarizing a bar in the borough last month.
According to State Police Trooper Moyer from the Frackville Barracks, troopers investigated a burglary that occurred at the Guntown Saloon, located at 145 North 2nd Street, in Girardville in the early morning hours of January 21st, 2021.
Police say Steven Robert Melsom, 25, of Girardville is accused of forcibly breaking open the front door of the bar, gaining access, and stealing approximately $120 in cash from the register.
On January 22nd, 2021, State Police issued a warrant for Melsom's arrest.
According to Public Information Officer Trooper David Beohm, Melsom was taken into custody on Friday morning in West Mahanoy Township.
Melsom was taken into custody and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $110,000 straight cash bail.
