Helen Lucille McGeever, 93, of Pottsville, died Saturday morning at home.

She was born September 30, 1927 in Kaiser Valley a daughter of the late Michael and Lucille O'Hara Tobin.

She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. She married Patrick Joseph McGeever and they raised one daughter Kathleen and 2 sons, Patrick J. Jr. and Michael.

Helen was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, American Red Cross Blood Mobile, Pottsville Garden Club, Pottsville Lionettes, Schuylkill County Women's Democratic Committee, Schuylkill County Ceili Dancing, Nativity BVM Booster Club where she was Past President, Make-A-Wish Foundation. She was also a social member of Humane Hose Fire Co., American Hose Fire Co., and West End Hose Fire Co., and a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians JFK Division No. 2.

Helen also loved celebrating her heritage by enjoying St. Patrick's Day and was a huge Notre Dame Football Fan, GO IRISH!

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Patrick J. McGeever, Sr., an infant son John, a son, Michael McGeever; a sister, Mary, a daugther in law Diana Dryden McGeever; childhood friend, Kathleen McCormick. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Galavage; a son, Patrick J. McGeever, Jr. and his wife Cindy, all of Pottsville; grandchildren, Michael, Edward, Eileen, Patrick J. III, Timothy, Kevin, and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Wil, Beau, Tobin, Josie, Tessa. Kevin Jr., and Kyle. nephews and cousins, and her longtime childhood friend, Gloria Reider.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday Feb 16th at 10:30AM from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a visitation Monday evening Feb 15th from 5-7PM at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville and from 9am until the time of mass Tuesday at St. Patrick. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Helen be made to St. Patrick Memorial Fund 319 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901 or St. John Memorial Fund, 913 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Anyone attending the visitations and mass are asked to please wear a mask.

Margaret Ann Vilcheck, 77, of Tuscarora, PA, died on Friday, February 5, 2021 in Barnesville, PA, at the home of her brother, Owen Martin. 

Born on January 6, 1944 in New Ringgold, PA, she was a daughter of the late William and Dorothy (nee Williams) Sterner. A 1961 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Margaret was employed as a nurse’s aide for 51 years until her retirement. She is survived by daughter, Lori Perchansky of Leesport, PA; sons, Joseph, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA and James Michael of Tuscarora; brothers, Owen Martin with whom she was living and Thomas Martin of Hometown, PA; and 13 nieces and nephews. 

Margaret was predeceased by sisters, Elaine Brachman and Alice Langton; brother, William Sterner; and step father, Owen Martin. Memorials in her name may be made to the Salvation Army, 105 West Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252.

Arnet Earl Krammes
, age 88, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Arnet was born in Pine Grove, PA on June 2, 1932 to Lillie and Clinton Krammes.

He was a Navy veteran who served on the USS Vermilion from 1952-1956.

Known as "Arnie" to many people, he worked for 30 years at Hercules, Inc. as a printer.

Over the years, he was involved in many of his kids' activities which included organizing Boy Scout Troop 605, coaching the Meadowood Angels Little League team and being active with the Dickinson High School Band Boosters.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Krammes, his son, Dean Krammes (Stephanie) of Wilmington, Delaware and his daughter, Kim Szymanski (Stan) of Wilmington, Delaware and four grandchildren, Stanley, Brian, Alex Szymanski and Amanda Krammes.

There will be graveside service at the convenience of the family.

Melissa A. Ramirez of Orwigsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, February 4th in the comfort of her home, surrounded by closest friends and family. She was born on May 25, 1969 in Pottsville, PA. 

She is survived by loving parents, Joan and Allen Bainbridge (Orwigsburg) a sister, Debra Heim, wife of Brian Heim (Orwigsburg), a daughter, Dana Frey (Falls Church, VA), and husband, William Ramirez, the love of her life, whom she married May 22, 1999. She was a member of Drehersville Immanuel E. C. Church. She was employed with MRD Lumber Company, formerly Butch Furer & Daughter, since 1986. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her beloved dogs. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. is honored to have served her family. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Melissa’s name. Please do not send flowers.

William J. Renninger, 62, of Pottsville, died Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill – East.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of June Martin Renninger, Schuylkill Haven, and the late Edwin Renninger. He was a 1976 graduate of Minersville High School, and worked for F. T. Silfies and J. P. Donmoyer, Inc.

He joined the Army Reserve shortly after graduating from high school, retiring as a First Sergeant in 1996. He was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Non-Commissioned Officer Personal Development Ribbon and the Commander’s Coin of Excellence.

He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Bertasavage; and a canine friend, Kieva.

In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by three sons, Joseph Renninger (spouse, Kristen), Trenton, New Jersey, William E. Renninger (spouse, Rhonda), Dover, and Randy Renninger (spouse, Jessica), Mount Vernon, Kentucky; five grandchildren, with another expected grandchild. He is also survived by five siblings, Cathy Carey (spouse, Jim), Pottsville, Lorrie Kohr, Williamstown, Kelly Schaffer (William), Cressona, Ken Renninger (Lisa), Norwegian Township, and Edwin Renninger (Sharon), Allentown; nieces and nephews; his canine buddy, Pepper.

Services are private. Interment with military honors will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Branch Township.
