Thousands of homes are reportedly without power in Schuylkill County on Saturday afternoon.
According to PPL, as of 1:35pm, 14,378 homes were without power across the county.
By 1:40pm, over 7,000 homes were reported to be restored with the total outages standing at 7,512.
Those reporting outages as of this posting are:
- Pottsville
- West Mahanoy Township
- Shenandoah
- East Norwegian Township
- Cass Township
- Port Carbon
- Girardville
- Ringtown
- Gordon
UPDATE(1:50pm) - PPL is reporting only 1,406 homes without power. Most areas are being restored quickly. No word on a cause.
UPDATE (2:30pm) - Most of those that lost power has had power restored.
Many of the areas around these outages also reported their lights flickering around the time the others loss power.
It was too early to report a cause of the outage but power is expected to be restored by 4:30pm, according to PPL
Some of our readers outside of the area affected by the power outage have reported issues with Service Electric and Comcast as well.
