Ashland firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the borough Saturday afternoon.
At 5:20pm, emergency personnel in Ashland were dispatched to the area of Willow Park in Ashland for a vehicle fire.
At the scene, police and fire personnel found a Ford Escape with the engine compartment engulfed in flames in a wooded area near the park and the driver fleeing the scene.
Firefighters were able to use a bumper line to extinguish the fire within minutes of arrival.
The cause of the fire was undetermined and police were still investigating.
Responding to the scene were the American Hose Company, Washington Fire Company, and Ashland Police.
