The body that was found Friday evening has been identified by the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office.
On Friday evening, Mahanoy Township Police received a report of a body found in a wooded area near the intersection of Route 54 and East End Road on the Vulcan Hill in the Township.
Local Police along with the Pennsylvania State Police Detectives and Forensic Unit, and the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office were at the scene into the late evening hours investigating the scene.
According to Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky, Michael Startzel, 36, of Mahanoy City was pronounced dead at 8:20pm.
Startzel had been missing and was last seen in Mahanoy City on February 14th, 2021.
Truskowsky said the death is not suspicious.
An autopsy will be done to determine how Startzel died.
