A boil water advisory was issued Monday morning for the customers of the Pine Grove Water system.
According to the water department, on Monday, March 22, 2021, at approximately 6:30 AM, a large leak was detected on Spruce Street. Customers may experience a drop/ loss in water pressure due to a water leak repair. A loss in water pressure is a signal of the existence of conditions that could allow contamination to enter the distribution system through back-flow by back-pressure or back siphonage. As a result, there is an increased chance that the water may contain disease causing organisms.
Residents are urged not to drink the water without boiling it first.
The boil advisory is in effect until further notice.
