A boil water advisory was issued Friday for the customers of the Pine Grove Water system.
According to the water department, onn Friday, March 26, 2021, at approximately 3:15p.m., a large leak was detected on North Tulpehocken Street by North End Fire Company. Customers will be without water till further notice from Speedway to Penn Dye Street. Upon water returning you might have a loss in water pressure, this is a signal of the existence of conditions that could allow contamination to enter the distribution system through back-flow by back-pressure or back-siphonage. As a result, there is an increased chance that the water may contain disease-causing organisms.
Residents are urged not to drink the water without boiling it first.
The boil advisory is in effect until further notice.
This is Pine Grove's second boil advisory this week. The first was issued Monday and lifted late Thursday.
