On Friday and Saturday, the Easter Bunny completed another epic tour around Schuylkill County.
Now in it's second year, the tour was organized by Dustin's Adventureland, a non-profit that is building Schuylkill County's first ever special needs playgrounds in Minersville.
The event was started in 2020 during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic when families were unable to visit the Easter Bunny.
The tour began Friday "north of the mountain" where the Easter Bunny visited the communities of Ringtown, Shenandoah, Girardville, Ashland, Fountain Springs, Altamont, and Mahanoy City.
During the second leg, which was held Saturday, the tour passed through Pottsville, Mount Carbon, Minersville, Palo Alto, Port Carbon, Mechanicsville, Saint Clair, Schuylkill Haven, and Orwigsburg.
Each town on the tour was sponsored by different Schuylkill County organizations that included Skook News, Frackville NAPA Auto Parts, the Humane Fire Company in Mahanoy City, Tony's Restaurant, Citizens Fire Company in Palo Alto, East End Fire Company, Womers Garage, Bruce T. Hart Funeral Home, Maria Casey Schuylkill County Clerk of Courts, Mother Bears Candy, Vintage 61 Storehouse, Remington Lincoln Dawson, Lucy Lilly and Francis Dougherty, John Malinchok for District Magistrate, Let's Keep Judge Christina Hale, Annetta Whitecavage Tax Collector, Doug Litwhiler for Sheriff, and the Morgan Family.
Along with the sponsors, many of the town's police departments and fire departments donated their time and provided an escort for the Easter Bunny.
The Easter Bunny had a great second year visiting the Skook and hopes to be back again next year!
